Shame on India !

Shame on India !
It is very sad for me to acknowledge that the women condition in India is not at all relevant to such a democracy.
A recent paper in the Wall Street Journal reveals the details and explains to us “how a cinema trip ended at hospital in New Delhi”.
The WSJ underlines that “the young woman, the child of an airport laborer who earns 7 000 rupees a month (about 130 $), was determined to become the first from her family… to have a professional career”. She was obliged to pay her studies to work hard at an outsourcing firm from 7.00 PM to 4.00 AM, in order to finance her tuition fees.
She was a high achiever in school and a hard worker outside the school. She had dreams and wanted to build a big house, buy a car and go abroad and work there.
The rest of the story is a shame for India but the reaction of public opinion against this particular story and more generally the way women are treated in India is on the contrary quite encouraging for this great nation and democracy.
December 16th will remain as an historical day in this country for the life of more than half of its population.
