Business friendly…
From a letter to the editor published by the Financial Times and sent by an english entrepreneur established for 13 years in Sophia Antipolis :
“French law, far from encouraging employment, is positively hostile to anyone taking the high personal risk of taking on an employee (…) as soon as a company grows above about five employees, all kinds of extra employment rules, charges and taxes kick in, which appear to be especially designed to inhibit employment growth (…) I can best sum it up by saying that, when I am 100 per cent utterly and completely certain that it is an absolute necessity that I need to recruit a new employee, I go to bed, sleep well and hope the feeling has gone away by the morning ! Until the government changes the fundamentals of employment conditions in France, companies will continue to fail to grow.”
